Kuril Chto
Future Fair 2024, May 1–4
535 W 28 Street, New York
For the Future Fair 2024 Bahnhof presents a solo booth by an emergent artist Kuril Chto, as a part of which he will show his signature works depicting the Monobloc chair presented in different medium including painting and sculpture. These works were just recently shown at the solo exhibition “Under Jove’s Protection” during the Venice Biennale. The Monobloc chair found in every remote corner of our planet serves as the artist’s interpretation of the migration phenomenon in the modern world. Along with those, Kuril Chto will show the mixed media work “Confused Lady” which is the part of the artist’s memes series. The last two works called “Bus Seats” are the representative pieces of the artist’s creative practice made using an air brush. The fabric of the seats seems to mimic into contemporary urban environment.
