For Future Fair 2023 in New York Bahnhof presents a two-person exhbition featuring sculptural work by Sabrina Haertig Gonzalez and paintings by Kati Kirsch.

New York is known as having the largest number of live poultry markets in the United States, with a clientele made up mainly of the city's immigrant populations. With her works Sabrina Haertig Gonzalez highlights the exploitation of Latinx communities for labor in the U.S. poultry processing industry, calling it “this weird cannibalism of one’s own labor.” The artist views sculpture as a way for minority groups and traditionally marginalized communities to reclaim their power and agency in systems that have historically excluded and exploited them.

Kati Kirsch's exquisite and delicate paintings magnify and abstract the tiny absurdities of the world today, rendering them artifacts imbued with a life of their own. Her work speaks to the interaction between inner and outer worlds, viewing the digital and physical as parts of both. Collaging disparate elements in the picture plane imposes order and belonging into remnants of found relics (on long evening walks in Brooklyn). She comments on the capitalist conditioning of our visions, dreams and hence art.
